Overview
We ship internationally to most countries and regions.
If your country is not available at checkout, please contact us at cs@bb-antiques.jp or through our contact form. Shipping availability may vary depending on the destination, item, and current carrier conditions.
Shipping Methods & Charges
We offer free shipping to most standard delivery areas.
Depending on the destination and the item, we use EMS (Japan Post), DHL, or Yamato Transport / UPS. We select the most suitable shipping method based on safety, delivery availability, package size, and destination.
For shipments sent by EMS or Yamato Transport / UPS, we arrange appropriate shipping insurance at our expense.
If DHL or another shipping method requiring additional shipping or insurance charges is necessary, we will contact you before shipping.
Shipping methods and availability may change due to carrier operations, customs requirements, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Package Protection
For shipments sent by EMS or Yamato Transport / UPS, we arrange appropriate shipping insurance at our expense.
DHL insurance is considerably more expensive and is therefore not included in our standard free shipping service. DHL is generally used only when Package Protection has been purchased or when otherwise agreed with the customer.
If necessary, we may contact you before shipping to discuss the most suitable shipping method.
Delivery Address
Please provide a complete street address and telephone number for delivery.
We are generally unable to ship to:

- General Delivery / Poste Restante addresses

- APO/FPO/DPO addresses
Remote Areas
Some carriers may apply an additional surcharge to addresses they classify as remote areas.
Whenever possible, we will use another available shipping method to avoid an additional charge.
If a remote-area surcharge cannot reasonably be avoided, we will contact you before shipping.
Tax and Duties
Import duties, taxes, customs fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the buyer.
We do not normally collect these charges at checkout.
If payment is required before delivery, the shipping carrier or local customs authority will usually contact you directly. Depending on the carrier and country, payment can often be made online through the carrier’s website or payment system.
Customs procedures and charges vary by country and may change without notice.
Dispatch & Delivery
We usually ship orders within 3 business days after cleared payment.
International delivery generally takes several business days after dispatch, but actual delivery times depend on the destination, customs clearance, carrier operations, weather, and other circumstances beyond our control.
Our business days are Monday through Friday, excluding Japanese public holidays.
Packing
We carefully pack each item for international transportation, with priority given to protecting the item during shipping.
We may reuse clean bubble wrap and shipping cartons when appropriate.
For fabric items such as kimono, obi, and textile bolts, protective plastic packaging may also be used.
We do not currently offer gift wrapping for international shipments.
