It seems “.jp” domain does not have any benefits and is not right for us.
According to EDAMAME Japan LLC, if you are thinking of operating a website targeted on Japan, avoid using domains other than “.jp”. Conversely, if you are marketing in a country other than Japan, acquire a domain tailored to that country Is desirable.
It means we better use another domain.
As for “.jp”, any number of corporations and individuals can be acquired. There is no limit on the number of domain names that can be registered. However, “.jp” domain’s requirement is that you have to have an address in Japan.
We thought the domain can show a bit of trust and security to overseas customers.
We currently use “bb-antiques” not “kagitora” in the JP domain.
We might look for another domain (ccTLD) for Kagitora in the future.
