The Chashaku Tea Scoop was named “Juzan” by Hashimoto Jyousho.
1962 He graduated Hanazono University
1962 He studied Rinzai school and Zen in Taitokuji Senmon Doujou.
He became a pupil of Oda Sessou (1901-1966) Roshi.
He was given names “Jyousho” and “Kendo” by Fujii Seido Roshi (previous the chief abbot of Daitokuji Sangenin).
1965 He became a priest of Yagyu Houtokuji
1973 He became a chief priest of Yagyu Houtokuji succeed to Hashimoto Teihou
The direct meaning of Juzan is Longevity.
It comes from Juzan Fukukai.
The original meaning of writing words is “Life is higher than mountains and Fortune is deeper than seas” that people are always looking for.
