This Chaire Natsume tea caddy is called Kinrinji shape. It is one of Usucha tea caddy. However Kinjinji shape tea caddy had been used as Koicha tea caddy at the Edo era. This shape of tea caddies started to use by Emperor Go-Daigo at Rikyu Tea Ceremony on 1555.
Nagata Yusuke is one of famous joinery artist especially for tea utensils.
He used to supply tea utensils to famous tea masters.

It is excellent vintage condition consistent with age. (Unused)
It comes with original paulownia box, original cloth (no seal) and original cloth by endorser (with seal).
We got it from our friend in Kyoto. Her relative kept this for long years.
It is made in Styphnolobium japonicum. The tree is symbolism for longevity and blessed.
