Vintage Takatori Chaire Tea Caddy, Shimizu Shigeo, Daikai (Naikai) Chaire, Unused or Very Less Used,

Shigeo Shimizu (1905-1970) was a ceramic artist from Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, Japan. He was born in Yokkaichi City in 1905. At the age of 16, he started learning pottery under his brother, Rakuzan Shimizu. In 1931, he opened his own kiln in Hongocho-cho, Yokkaichi City, and devoted himself to produce Tang Dynasty-style ceramics. He passed away in November 1970.
Our relative bought his chaire tea caddy in 1965.
This Daikai (Naikai) Chaire is very smooth, nice shape with beautiful wabi-sabi colors.
It is unused or Very Less Used in excellent vintage condition consistent with age with original shifuku and original paulownia box.
