This calligraphy comes with the original sign, seal, original paper box and original paulownia box.

The writing words “故國山水多清暉日歸日歸松未?”.
The original meaning of writing words is “I was born in a beautiful place where there are many deep mountains, clean water from mountains, and shining sun. Despite having returned to my home country, I am still not able to return to the place.”

It was written by famous calligrapher Sato Taisetsu.
Taisetsu Sato (1923-2001) was born in Yamagata in 1923. He studied seal carving and Suiboku ink painting under Yamada Shohei (1899-1962), who was known as a representative seal carver of the Showa era.
He was selected for the calligraphy section of the Nitten exhibition in 1957. The following year, he was selected for both the calligraphy and seal carving sections.
He demonstrated his skills by being selected for the Nitten exhibition in 1961.
In 1982, he opened the Taisetsu Shodo Art Museum in Yamagata Prefecture.

He devoted himself to the development of calligraphy and the cultivation and guidance of the younger generation, and also conducted many instructions overseas. In 1990, he held a solo exhibition in Barcelona, Spain, and also worked hard to introduce Japanese culture. He passed away at the age of 77 in 2001.
