The lacquer Natsume tea caddy is made by Kitahama Soushin.
Born in 1952 in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
A traditional craftsman of Wajima lacquerware and a member of the New Japan Art Institute.
He has received numerous awards, including:
* President’s Prize, Wajima City Association of Arts and Crafts
* Chairman’s Prize, Wajima City Council
* Special Selection, New Japan Art Institute Exhibition
* Gold Prize, New Japan Art Institute
It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age with original paulownia box. (Unused)
We do not see any sign of using.
It is traditional art and craft. Please do not look for perfect finishing like machine made.
