Kimura Korakuen Kiln is one of the six families of Bizen. They have been produced Bizen ware since 1675.
They keep original procedure and use natural pine woods to bake.
It is a matcha teal bowl by very famous Bizen artist the 14th Kimura Chojuro Yukei (Sumio Kimura). He passed away in 1975.
16th Kimura Chojuro Yukei (Shigeo Kimura) became the kiln’s master in 2018.
Currently 16th Kimura Chojuro Yukei, the 1st son Kiura Ikuo and the 2nd son Kimura Shinya run Kimura Korakuen Kiln.
This Matcha Tea Bowl, it is very simple and beautiful.
It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age with original paulownia box, original cloth and original guide paper. (Unused)
We got it from our relative in Okayama.
