Chashaku artists always use beautiful woods.
Mulberry trees emit a unique glow, and its color is referred to as golden Mulberry.
Due to its hard timbers, it is durable and less likely to warp, and polishing brings out its unique luster. Then the timbers’ grain stand out beautifully.
The viscosity of timbers are high and it is difficult to break even when delicate work is done.
Therefore it was heavily used in Edo woodworking.
It changes to a tortoiseshell color over time and it is one of the most beautiful timbers in the world.
