Shino ware is a type of Mino ware produced in the southeastern part of Gifu Prefecture. This type of pottery ware was usually decorated with underglaze iron painting and covered with white feldspathic glaze. The Shino kiln produced tableware which included mainly tea ceremony utensils. – Quote from A Dictionary of Japanese Art Terms

Higuchi Rikizo born in 1935 in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, as the son of Higuchi Tozo. Graduated from Rikkyo University in 1958.
He studied Shino pottery under his father Higuchi Tozo, Suzuki Osamu and Suzuki Michio (Father of Suzuki Osamu).
Succeeded as the fourth generation of Yoshin Kiln after his father passed away in 1976.

Held a solo exhibition of Shino ware at Kuroda Toen in Ginza in 2005. Member of Mino Ceramic Art Association. Lives in Obata-cho, Tajimi City.

This tea bowl is under kiln name and unused with original paulownia box and original cloth.
It is beautiful shape and beautiful Shino colors. You can never get bored about this Shino ware.
