Bizen ware is one of famous Japanese pottery. It is from Bizen province (Okayama, Japan). Konishi Touko is very famous for Sangiri.
Because the masters Mimura Toukei and Konishi Touko, the first artists, together discovered the technique for making Sangiri in 1926.
That’s why they produce very good quality of Sangri Bizen Ware.
Konishi Tozo is born in 1947 as his grandson of 1st Konishi Touko.
He studied drawing and oil painting when he was a student of Nihon University.
He also studied pottery under one of Mashiko Ware Kiln.
He leaned and studied Bizen pottery on his own.
After he came back to Okayama, he studied Bizen Pottery under his mother, 2nd Touko.
He became the head of Touko Kiln after 2nd Touko passed away.
He did not succeed the Touko and keep producing his works as Konishii Touzo.
He became very famous Bizen artist now.
We got it from our relative in Okayama.
It is his works after he got A prize Honoring Kaneshige’s Contribution in 1988.
It seems like unused in excellent vintage condition consistent with age.
It comes with original paulownia box, original cloth and original guide paper.
We see Yohen, Hidasuki, Goma, Kuttsuki and Stone Burst.
