Shigaraki-yaki is one of famous Japanese pottery based in Shigaraki area in Shiga, Japan. They produce Shigaraki-yaki more than 1,300 years. Shigaraki-yaki is very simple, natural, strong and warm.
The sake cup was produced by the kiln of 4th Rakusai Takahashi (born in 1925). He succeeded to 4th Rakusai Takahashi in 1976 after his father 3rd Rakusai Takahashi passed away. He retired in 2010 and 5th Rakusai Takahashi runs their kiln.
It is unused in excellent vintage condition consistent with age with original paulownia box, original cloth and original guide paper.
We got it from our friend. She told us unused, because she just collected sake cups as her collection.
We did not see any sign of using.
