Tokoname ware produced the Chita peninsula in Aichi Prefecture. Tokoname kiln began to produce unglazed earth ware during the end of the Heian period. Tokoname ware includes everyday utensils such as the Yama Chawan, Lipped Bowls, Pots and Jars which were distributed in Eastern and Western Japan. Mizuno Seisen
Mizuno Seisen was born on August 10, 1928 in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. His real name is Tatsuji Mizuno. He is a distinguished Japanese ceramic artist celebrated for his mastery of traditional Tokoname ware. He graduated from Aichi Prefectural Tokoname Technical High School in 1946.
He went on to achieve both national and international acclaim, earning numerous prestigious honors.

**Characteristics of Works**
His works are notable for their refined forms, underpinned by exceptional wheel-throwing skills, and for their variety of expressions such as Shudei (Iron Rich Clay), Mogake (Seaweed Decoration Bake), and Kohiki (White Slip). The smooth wheel marks and Kinyo finishing (Milky Blue Glaze) combine technical mastery with a fine aesthetic sensibility, resulting in works of great beauty.
It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age with original paulownia box, original cloth and original guide paper. (Unused)
