“KOGO” incense care (container) is a vessel with a cover, for holding incense. Used at “TEMAE” ceremony and placed as an ornament on the floor of “TOKONOMA” in the “CHASHITSU”. Unlike the “KORO” it is not used for burning incense but is exclusively for smelling the fragrance from it. There are many various of “KOGO”. During the Edo period there were so many numerous varieties the “KOGO” “BANZUKE” (ranking lists) were compiled. – Quote from A Dictionary of Japanese Art Terms

It is made by one of famous Kyo ware’s artist, Toho Tezuka.
This is unused with original paulownia box and original cloth. It is beautiful shape and elegant.
It is called Ninsei Utsushi.
This is not a mass production model.
