The Natsume tea caddy made of jujube-wood by tea utensils woodworker, Sakugoro.
“Jujube Wood is hard, and its well-used item increases color and luster.
Because of this reason, it is used in high-quality crafts such as tea utensils, Buddhist implements and fine furniture, as well as for violin fittings.
Although it is considered a precious high-quality timbers known as “Meiboku” in Japan, it rarely appears in the market.
Additionally, it is difficult to work with the timber due to the risk of scorching during processing. The timber grain has a dense and uniform, and the colors of the heartwood and sapwood are distinct. When used for making tea utensils, it results in a beautiful finish. Since it is crafted from high-quality timber, it becomes a lifelong treasure.”
It belonged to our grandmother.
Jujube Wood tea caddy is pretty rare and it comes with natural beautiful pattern.
We rarely see Jujube Wood items on the market.
