Shino ware is a type of Mino ware produced in the southeastern part of Gifu Prefecture. This type of pottery ware was usually decorated with underglaze iron painting and covered with white feldspathic glaze. The Shino kiln produced tableware which included mainly tea ceremony utensils. – Quote from A Dictionary of Japanese Art Terms

Kobayashi Takeharu born in 1944 in Toki city, Gifu.
He started his own kiln, Chikuyo gama in 1970.
He got the Toki city award in 1974.
He is one of very famous modern Shino artists especially Nezumi, Murasaki, Hiiro and Akebono Shino.
He studied and researched Shino ware by himself and he developed his own technique about Shino ware.

It is very beautiful Nezumi Shino colors in excellent vintage condition consistent with age (Unused)
together with original paulownia box, original cloth and original guide paper.
We do not see any sign of using.

When tea people see tea bowls by talented Shino artists, they are easy to tell.
Because colors and textures are big differences from normal tea bowls.
Especially his works are always with beautiful glazes.
It belonged to our father. Kobayashi Takeharu is one of his favorite artists.

The Chawan color will match with Matcha.
You are able to use this Matcha Tea Bowl for Tea Ceremonies.
