Vintage Chashaku Tea Scoop, Horinji of Daitokuji Temple, Fukumoto Sekio, Chashaku Name: Hanagoromo (Hanakoromo), Matcha Bamboo Scoop,

The Chashaku Tea Scoop was named “Hanagoromo (Hanakoromo)” by Fukumoto Sekio.
Fukumoto Sekio (1930) born in Kyoto.
He is one of one of famous priests in Daitokuji Temple.

He studied Rinzai school and Zen under Souou Washo.
He was ordained by Souou Washoo at Yotokuin Temple in 1940.
He became a pupil of Moriyama Kankei (Seikyoken Kankei Roshi), chief priest of Daitokuji Temple and he also studied meditation in Mino Kokei Dojo in 1949.
He was appointed to the chief priest of Shoshunji Temple in 1959.
He was also appointed to the chief priest of Horinji Temple from 1983 to 2004.
He was appointed to the chef priest of Shoshunji Temple in 2004, again.

“Hanagoromo” refers to the formal kimono that women wear when they go to view cherry blossoms. In the ancient times, the color of the kimono, which was worn in layers and called “Sakura Gasane”, was referred to as “Hanagoromo”.
Also, during the Genroku era, a type of kimono called Hanami Kosode became popular, and this Hanami Kosode was referred to as “Hanagoromo”.
Nowadays, it does not refer to a specific pattern, color, or kimono type, but the sight of a kimono among the fully bloomed and or falling flowers is indeed gorgeous and beautiful.

This Chashaku Tea Scoop is very beautiful Shirotake colors.
It has incredible beauty of nature for Bamboo Node and Internodes.

Based cutting by Kagebayashi Soutoku.
He is very famous Chashaku artist.
He born in Takayama (Nara) in 1946. Original name is Seiichi.
He leaned bamboo works from his family since 1965.
He studied tea utensils under Fujii Kaido Roshi and Miyanishi Gensho Roshi.
He took based cutting for Horiuchi Sokan, Kobayashi Taigen and Fukumoto Sekio.

It is excellent vintage condition consistent with age. (Very less used)
It comes with original tube, original paulownia box with title and original paper box.
It belonged to our relative.
