The Chashaku Tea Scoop was named “Kangetsu (Kanduki)” by Hashimoto Jyousho.
1962 He graduated Hanazono University
1962 He studied Rinzai school and Zen in Taitokuji Senmon Doujou.
He became a pupil of Oda Sessou (1901-1966) Roshi.
He was given names “Jyousho” and “Kendo” by Fujii Seido Roshi (previous the chief abbot of Daitokuji Sangenin).
1965 He became a priest of Yagyu Houtokuji
1973 He became a chief priest of Yagyu Houtokuji succeed to Hashimoto Teihou
Zen word, Shoutou refers to the Zen phrase “Kouga Shite Shoutou Wo Kiku”.
Shoutou is a term that likens the sound of the wind through pine trees to the sound of waves. It describes the sound of the wind passing through the treetops of pines, comparing it to the sound of waves.
Kouga means to live quietly with high aspirations.
“Kouga Shite Shoutou Wo Kiku” means to hold high aspirations and listen to the sound of the wind blowing through the pine treetops with a calm and pure heart. In other words, it signifies focusing on the present without being distracted by unnecessary thoughts or disturbances, and facing what needs to be done with sincerity and dedication.

Sojun Okuda is a famous bamboo craftsman. It is known that he was asked to shave off the bottom of the tea scoop by famous monks.
It is also known that he was often asked to do so by Shodo Maeda, Jyousho Hashimoto, Meido Togami, and others.
This Chashaku Tea Scoop is perfect shape and beautiful Shibochiku nature patterns.
It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age. (Very less used)
It comes with original tube, original paulownia box, original paper box with title.
