Oya Shunrei (1892-1967)
He born in Ibukamura Kamogun (Current Minokamo city), Gif prefecture.
His birth name is Kanichi.
He moved to Kyoto in 1911. He became pupil under Miki Suizan (1883-1957).
Later Miki Suizan introduced Oya Shunrei to Takeuchi Seiho (1864-1972).
Then Oya Shunrei studied painting under great mentor Takeuchi Seiho.
He got the first prize of the Teiten Exhibition in 1919, then he has been selected for the Teiten Exhibition 7 times.
He is one of very famous Japanese painter.
His name is on who’s who in Japanese Art.
It is pretty old but very rate item.
It belonged to our grandfather.
